Isaiah 66:1-2 provides valuable insight into the desire of the Lord to find a place to dwell with His creation. The God who is 'everywhere' is looking for 'somewhere' to abide and reveal His glory.
Thus says the LORD: 'Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool; what is the house that you will build for me, and what is the place of my rest?' Isaiah 66:1
The resting place of the LORD looks like His dwelling with us both an individual and collective temple of His Spirit and to manifest His love and power through us as we honour His word like treasure in our hearts and love Him with a humility and tenderness of heart.
'But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.' Isaiah 66:2
